DRAG THE SLIDER TO VIEW BEFORE AND AFTER
The most important process when installing a new epoxy floor is proper surface preparation. CMS shot blasted the floor which is a process that cleans and opens the pores of the concrete. Shot blasting also changes the surface profile of the concrete and ensures that the new epoxy floor will bond to the concrete.
Patch all control joints with an epoxy mortar. After the epoxy has cured, all joints are ground smooth.
Application of a penetrating epoxy primer for a mechanical bond to the concrete.
Apply the vinyl flake broadcast coat where epoxy is applied to the floor with a squeegee, rolled out and allowed to self-level. Once the epoxy has leveled it is broadcast or covered with vinyl flakes until there are no wet spots remaining on the floor.
All excess vinyl flakes are scraped and swept off the floor and two coats of clear urethane were installed to provide a UV stable floor.
